Planning Birthday Party

Planning a Birthday Party in Albany, NY

A lot goes into planning the perfect birthday party. The first step is to come up with the type of party you want to have. Is it a surprise? Do you prefer a casual gathering at home? Do you want to do something unforgettable? Once you come up with the overall feel you’re looking for, you can start looking for vendors to make it all come together. There are countless talented professionals and nice venues in Albany, NY.

Budget

An important step for planning any event is creating a budget. You should decide in the very beginning how much you want to spend on everything. The type of party you plan will depend heavily on what you can afford! After you make your budget, you’ll want to start thinking about the venue for your party. If you have a small budget and you have a decent size house or yard, you may want to consider having it at home. Not only does this save money, but it makes it more personal and intimate. You’ll also have the freedom to do pretty much anything you want, such as have a big bouncy bounce. To make things even more fun, come up with a theme for the party!

Activities for Children

If you don’t want to have the party at home, then there are a ton of different ideas. For children, some of the more popular party activities are bowling, going to the movies, miniature golf, ice skating and roller skating. The top 4 miniature golf places near Albany are Latham Greens, Oasis Family Fun Park, Funplex Fun Park and The Control Tower. The kids can have pizza, play some mini golf and other activities (such as bumper boats and batting cages) and end the day with ice cream. The best place for roller skating near Albany is Guptill’s Arena, where they have a great party package. If you’re planning a party during the winter then ice skating is a nice activity. The Empire State Plaza in Albany has a free outdoor rink and Hudson Valley Community College has an indoor rink that charges admission. At both places you can rent skates. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, you could have your party at Albany’s Indoor Rockgym.
